Avitar Demonstrates Strong Customer Growth in First Half Of Fiscal 2006

("Avitar" or the "Company") developer of the first on-site oral fluid-based screen for drugs of abuse, announced today that the Company has added nearly fifty new clients during the first six months of the current fiscal year, contributing to a significant increase in the Company's business since January, 2006. "We are gaining traction in the market as more corporations are coming to understand the value of random testing in helping to reduce the costs related to drug abuse in the workplace. The upward pressure on costs such as Workers Compensation, employee health benefit utilization, and inventory shrinkage, is due in large part to the widespread use of drugs on the job despite extensive pre-employment screening," said Peter P.
