A written drug policy is a critical document in any drug free workplace program. It should be reviewed and signed by all employees, and state that illegal drug use will not be tolerated in the workplace and may result in adverse personnel actions. The policy should detail that drug (and alcohol) abuse creates economic and social consequences that are unacceptable in the workplace environment.
