AVITAR adds to Managerial and Sales Staff.

CANTON, MA, February 22, 2000 – Avitar, Inc. (NASDBB: AVIT.OB) has appointed Joseph Jones as Operations Manager to its U.S. Drug Testing Laboratories (USDTL) unit. Mr. Jones comes to Avitar with 13 years of experience with the Laboratory Corporation of America, of Raleigh, N.C.. Mr. Jones will be responsible for the day to day management of the laboratories which perform HAIRscreen™ tests for drugs of abuse, as well as the confirmation tests for Avitar’s point of care ORALscreen™ drugs of abuse tests.
"Joe brings to us a strong background in operations management, which will enable us to rapidly expand our volume in hair testing and oral fluid confirmations. Joe’s skills are very complementary to the strong scientific capabilities currently in place in our lab," said Doug Lewis, President of Avitar’s USDTL unit.
Avitar also announced the appointment of Kevin Miller as the Regional Sales Manager for its North Central region. Mr. Miller has extensive sales experience in the drugs of abuse area with both MedTox Laboratories and most recently, Lab One. Prior to his experience with MedTox, Kevin was with the U.S. Army Special Operations (Airborne) at Fort Bragg, N.C..
