Avitar Inc. Signs National Sales Agreement with CITGO

CANTON, MA, October 11, 2000 – Avitar, Inc. (AMEX: AVR) announced today that it has signed a national sales agreement with the CITGO Petroleum Corporation, if implemented at all of CITGO’s locations, that would have a value of $6.5 million annually. Avitar’s ORALscreen™ and ORALadvantage™ products will provide rapid, on-demand, drugs–of–abuse testing for up to 14,500 CITGO brand retail gasoline outlets, convenience stores and Quick Lube outlets.
