Avitar, Inc. and Pinkerton Services Group Commence Strategic Co-Marketing Agreement

CANTON, MA – January 22, 2001--Avitar, Inc. (AMEX: AVR) announced today that it has signed a strategic co-marketing agreement with Pinkerton Services Group (PSG) of Charlotte, NC. Pinkerton Services Group will market and distribute Avitar’s ORALscreen™ and HAIRscreen™ drug test product lines in conjunction with its investigation, employee assessment, and substance abuse program services. Under this agreement, Avitar will promote Pinkerton Services Group’s services through its national sales force.
